Icelandic Adventures
The land of Fire & Ice was simply incredible. Eleven ladies set out for a week of new adventures, new friends and amazing scenery.
Unlike other group trips, something very special occured with this group of women. Some were traveling with friends, some traveling by themselves. After flying together, and taking our first tour, it was like everyone in this group had know each other for a lifetime.
When we started this group we hoped to provide this exact experience. It's difficult to bring people together that have never met, are from different backgrounds and have everyone meld so well together. What I found to be the most heartwarming was the support and encouragement shown during the entire trip. For many, the things that we did during the trip were physically challenging, cold, windy and long days, yet somehow everyone showed up for dinner ready to talk about the experiences of the day, laughing and having the time of their lives.
While we had hope to se the northern lights on this trip, sadly they did not show their colors. We did however, climb glaciers, trek through ice caves, encountered reindeer, geothermal areas, waterfalls, icebergs and of course the Secret Lagoon hot spring. We took walks, explored some on our own, did a little shopping and a lot of eating. While many trips offer several group dining nights, even on our "on you own" evenings, we hung out together eating and sharing stories.
This was truly life changing experience full of emotions and happiness. I look forward to our next trip!
