Ciao Italy September 2021
The region of Tuscany is always a great trip. The food, wind and lifestyle provide an amazing experience.
We started our trip in Florence. My friend Martina is the best tour guide in Florence. Check out her website Florence What Else (https://florencewhatelse.it/en/) Her video's make Stanly Tucci look like a novice. We learned about the Medici Family in Florence, and went to the Academia Gallery to see the original statue of David. We had such a great time.
Sitting at cafe's, dining on the Piazza and of course shopping for Italian leather products was a great part of our trip here. You can meander the cobblestone streets and get lost in a medieval times
From Florence we headed into a small village in the hill town of Roccatederighi. Our accommodations were in an 11th century monastery which has been restored. The great hall here has some of the most amazing artwork and artifacts. You can spend several hours exploring here and the stunning property. Walk among olive groves and cork trees and enjoy the relaxation of the quite peaceful area. This is a great place to detach from electronic and TV.
We traveled to several wineries in Tuscany. We went horseback riding through the vines in Sam Gimignano at Tenuta Torciano, explored the Chianti area and a family vineyard in Montemorali. We learned about wine production, wine pairing, and all the requirements for each different type of wine.
Like all of our trips, it is about spending time together, meeting new friends. We all had the opportunity to meet before traveling which gave everyone time to get to know each other.
Won't you join us?
