Meet your private guide at your hotel and depart on foot for a 3-hour walking tour of Paris, the City of Light. The location of your hotel will dictate how your time is best spent, though your guide will be happy to accommodate any specific requests. Perhaps stroll to Ile de la Cite, where the medieval city was focused, and home the cathedral of Notre-Dame, one of the most famous Catholic churches in the world. Make your way to see the courtyards of the world famous Louvre, the largest palace and museum in Europe. Learn about Paris at the time of Napoleon as you see the imposing Arc de Triomphe on the renowned Champs-Elysees, or make your way toward the icon of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, for a ground-level photo opportunity of this must-see monument.

Admire remarkable views over Paris as you climb to the summit of the iconic Eiffel Tower. Your timed entry ticket gives you access to all three floors, including the 1st and 2nd levels and the Summit. Marvel at the view before heading on to your next activity.

Enjoy a relaxed self-guided cruise on the Seine River, offering you a unique view of Paris's main sights. Discover the magnificence of the riverbanks and watch local Parisians go about their day on shore.

Enjoy a 1-day pass for one of Paris' famed Hop On Hop Off double decker bus audio tours. Steeped in history and packed full of world famous landmarks, enjoy great views from the open top deck as you see Paris at your own pace. The ticket grants you flexibility across a pair of routes, the Red Route, boasting 10 stops covering Paris' historical city center, and the Blue Route, focusing on the bohemian chic Montmartre district. A headset with audio guide is offered in a multitude of languages, so keep an eye out for something of interest, and hop off to explore.

Marching through the Museum

Meet your private guide out front a cafe just steps away from the world famous Louvre Museum, housed within the largest palace in all of Europe. With an astonishingly rich collection of art ranging from Ancient Greece all the way to the 19th century, the Louvre is arguably unmatched. Witness Da Vinci's timeless The Mona Lisa, the statues of Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace, both over 2,000 years old dating back to ancient Greece, and the 4,600-year-old Great Sphinx of Tanis, a relic of the Egyptians. See Eugene Delacroix's iconic 17th century Liberty Leading the People representing victory by the people in the French Revolution, and check out the original Code of Hammurabi, a legal code depicted on a black basalt tablet shaped like an index finger, which dates back to a time just under 4,000 years ago. Bear witness to incredible history at the Louvre. Time to enjoy Louvre on our own. Return to your hotel independently.

Cross an Item off the Bucket List

Enjoy a half day visiting the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Palace of Versailles, traveling in a private car and English speaking guide. This magnificent Baroque palace is known to the world as a symbol of civilization and pleasure. The Palace of Versailles dates back to 1038 and was the official residence of the Kings of France from 1682 until 1790. Used by Louis XIV initially as a hunting lodge, the property expanded to become the majestic site of French classical architecture complete with extensive manicured gardens. The interior showcases brilliant examples of Baroque furnishings, a rare collection art, and special exhibitions. Your guide will lead you through the most beautiful rooms where you'll be dazzled by their sheer opulence. Free time is allocated at the end of the tour for a walk in the French style gardens which feature exalted statues, busts, and marble vases, before returning to Paris.

Private Guided tour through the trendy district of Le Marais, one of those rare Parisian neighborhoods that combines excellent museums, boutiques, dining, and nightlife in a postcard-perfect historic setting. Escape the tourist crowds and find out about the Marais' hidden treasures, learning some historical anecdotes that will only enhance the magic of this fascinating neighborhood. Stroll past historic private mansions, the 16th century Hotel de Ville (now City Hall), the Musée National Picasso, and the eternally elegant Place des Vosges, the oldest planned square in Paris. Spot the 17th century Saint-Paul Saint-Louis Church built on the orders of Louis XIII, and even parts of the bustling Jewish quarter. There's much to be explored in Le Marais.

In the evening, make your way to a wine cellar in the heart of Paris where you'll meet a professional sommelier and join a small group of up to 24 participants for a fun, interactive and informative wine tasting activity. Here you'll taste six different wines produced from 6 different regions in France. From Champagne to Bordeaux, from Sancerre to the Rhone- just sit back, relax, enjoy and have fun. Packing Suggestions

Sept. may be warm or the ideal weather but is the perfect time to travel to Paris. There are so many variances within that, so do find out before you come to know what to pack. Good Packing Habits—

Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind – or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.

Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.

Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.

Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.

Luggage

On every SG tour, our policies regarding luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations of the vehicles we use and the requirement that all travelers be able to manage their own belongings without assistance.

It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.

You may bring one suitcase plus small shoulder bag/day pack/purse.

Maximum suitcase size: 25-inches in height as measured from the FLOOR to the top of the retracted handle. The small case in a 3-piece luggage set easily meets this requirement and should be plenty roomy for this length of trip.

Suitcases larger than 25" in height will not fit in the SG coach; don't bring them.

The maximum weight of your suitcase should not exceed 50 pounds, as you will need to lift it into the coach luggage compartment.

You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings from the coach to your room and to bring it back to the coach and load it on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient. The possibility of steps exist at most hotel entrances.

Fitness

Walking is a key component of our tours. On some days, between walking tours and personal exploration you can expect to walk 2-3 miles over the course of a day. Although the activity level on this trip may not appear strenuous, we believe you will enjoy the tour more if you possess a general level of fitness and endurance.

Money

Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: the number of meals you are responsible for, the amount of money you like to have on-hand for snacks and drinks, and your individual shopping interests and habits.

Notify your credit card issuer that you will be traveling and provide dates of travel.

ATMs are typically the best way of obtaining cash; you must know your PIN number for your debit and credit cards in order to use the ATMs.

Tipping

All tips to local guides during your tour have already been paid on your behalf.

You are responsible for tipping wait-staff, porters, or other individuals who provide a service to you at the hotel, or other public locations.

You may want to tip your SG Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $7-$10 per day.

Payment Dates and Cancellation Penalty Amounts

Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to the original departure date will receive a full refund less any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 30 days or more prior to new departure date will receive full refund minus 25% of the program price and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 29 days or less prior to new departure date will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

Traveling Solo? Most of the women on your tour are traveling solo!

If you wish to share with another solo traveler, select this option on the Reservation Form and your tour price will automatically be based on the room share price.

Or, you may select a single room, when available, on the Reservation Form and your tour price will be automatically based on the single room price.
